Who doesn't enjoy a fresh, crisp Kolsch after a good game of Calvinball? This Kolsch-style German ale is refreshing to drink, surprisingly complex in flavor and easy to brew.

For a truly authentic Kosch, use the White Labs WLP029, German Ale/Kolsch Yeast.  Ferment cool (high 60's) and then, after fermentation, lager it in the mid 30's , if possible.


  • Malt Extract: 5 pounds  Pilsen Liquid Malt Extract,
  • Malt Extract: 2 pounds Wheal Liquid Malt Extract
  • Specialty grains: Cara-Pils, Cara-Hell
  • Hops:  Perle, Tettnang
